Designing learning that works
Learning that works in the real world - not just learning that looks good on paper.
I’m an experienced educator and instructional designer with a background across primary, secondary, and specialist settings.
My work focuses on designing curriculum, courses, and learning resources that are clear, practical, and ready to use.
Over the course of my career, I have worked in teaching and leadership roles, supporting a wide range of learners - including those with diverse needs, complex backgrounds, and varying levels of support.
This experience shapes how I approach learning design. I don’t design for ideal conditions - I design for real environments, with real constraints.
A lot of learning design looks good in theory, but doesn’t hold up in practice.
I focus on creating work that is:
clear and aligned
inclusive by design
practical to implement
adaptable across different contexts
The goal is always the same - to create learning that is usable, effective, and sustainable.
My work includes instructional design, course development, and the refinement of AI-generated learning materials - ensuring content is not only efficient to produce, but also accurate, aligned, and genuinely useful.
While my experience is grounded in education, the principles I use apply across any learning environment - including professional learning, training, and online contexts.
Through Leovara Education, my focus is on designing that supports people to understand, engage, and succeed - in ways that work in practice, not just in theory.
